Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and EMS units to locations using two-way radio systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date incident logs and records in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers during high-stress situations.
- Coordinate with field units to ensure rapid response times and effective resource management.
- Perform data entry and file maintenance for ongoing investigations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type accurately at a minimum of 40 WPM.
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
