Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units during incidents
- Enter and update critical incident data in RMS (Records Management System)
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in crisis situations
- Document call details and maintain detailed logs
- Adhere to all NIMS (National Incident Management System) protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18+ years old and US citizen
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (test provided)
- Clear speaking voice with strong diction
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer proficiency
- No felony convictions
