Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public regarding crimes, accidents, and medical emergencies.
- Dispatch patrol officers, fire units, and emergency medical services (EMS) to the scene of incidents.
- Utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to log calls, create incident reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor radio frequencies and maintain constant communication with field units.
- Provide critical information to responding units, including location details, suspect descriptions, and hazards.
- Assist in the investigation process by maintaining detailed logs and forwarding information to detectives.
- Perform related clerical duties as required to ensure efficient department operations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (or ability to obtain one).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under high-pressure situations.
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency status.
