Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with high accuracy and speed.
- Monitor and operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to coordinate law enforcement, fire, and medical units.
- Dispatch emergency responders to the correct locations with precise information.
- Maintain detailed logs and records of all dispatch activities and incidents.
- Provide accurate information to the public regarding police reports and departmental services.
- Communicate effectively with field officers and other emergency personnel via radio.
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel and maintaining departmental protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 words per minute.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress, high-pressure situations.
- Background check and drug screening required.
