Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems while maintaining radio communication protocols
- Provide critical information to officers and other emergency responders
- Enter and maintain accurate data in law enforcement databases
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress crisis situations
- Coordinate with other agencies (Fire, EMS, Hospitals) during emergencies
- Complete all required training modules within specified timeframe
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM verified by test)
- Exceptional communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship and Washington State residency required
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Ability to operate computer-aided dispatch systems
