As a critical part of our 911 communications center, you will serve as the voice and lifeline for our citizens in times of need. This entry-level position offers on-the-job training to become a full-fledged Police Dispatcher.

Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service from the public and other law enforcement agencies.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and rescue units to emergency incidents using a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all calls, incidents, and unit status.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and provide real-time updates to field personnel.
- Assist in training new dispatchers and learning complex communication protocols.
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry and report verification as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly over radio and telephone.
- Must be able to type accurately at a minimum speed of 35-40 WPM.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during stressful situations.
- Must possess a valid Driverβs License and a clean driving record.
- Completion of emergency medical dispatch (EMD) certification preferred.
