Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD systems with precise location details
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per state protocols
- Provide crisis intervention and critical information to callers during emergencies
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems simultaneously
- Coordinate with field units during active incidents and provide real-time updates
- Complete mandatory training modules and certification requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid Florida driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Experience in customer service or high-pressure environments preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
- Must pass written and oral exams during recruitment process
- US citizenship and residency in Florida required
