Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units using CAD software
- Maintain accurate real-time incident tracking and documentation
- Provide critical pre-arrival emergency instructions to callers
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Monitor radio communications and maintain situational awareness
- Adhere to NIMS protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, CAD systems)
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear communication skills (written/spoken)
- No felony convictions and clean background check
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
- Ability to pass psychological evaluation and drug screening
