Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with high accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents utilizing Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Provide critical information to first responders to ensure rapid and safe resolution of incidents.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and status boards for all dispatched units.
- Coordinate inter-agency communications and assist in managing complex crisis situations.
- Monitor and update citizens regarding road closures, evacuations, and emergency situations.
- Assist victims and callers with emotional support during distressing events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 words per minute.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under extreme pressure.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.
- U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a background investigation, drug screening, and medical evaluation.
