Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming calls for service, including 911 emergency and non-emergency lines.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to appropriate locations using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain clear and accurate radio communication with field personnel and other agencies.
- Enter and update incident details in the records management system (RMS) in real-time.
- Provide critical information and instructions to citizens and officers during emergencies.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of new dispatch personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays (shift work).
- Strong computer skills with a typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Valid Arizona driverβs license.
