As a Dispatcher Trainee, you will be responsible for receiving, evaluating, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls. You will work in a fast-paced environment requiring exceptional attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services.
- Maintain situational awareness and relay critical information to responding officers.
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communication equipment.
- Provide information to the public, callers, and law enforcement personnel regarding police services, locations, and procedures.
- Enter data accurately into records management systems and maintain logs.
- Monitor status of units and coordinate resource allocation during incidents.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driverβs License.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills.
- U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
