Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and medical responses
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation in CAD systems
- Provide critical information to field units and external agencies
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress emergency situations
- Assist in training new dispatchers after program completion
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Valid California driver's license
- Experience with multi-tasking in fast-paced environments
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with mapping software
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
