Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide life-saving instructions during medical emergencies
- Maintain accurate call logs and documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio systems and emergency notification technologies
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Typing speed ≥ 40 WPM (verified by test)
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows, data entry)
- Clear speaking voice and calm demeanor under pressure
- 18+ years of age at time of appointment
- No felony convictions
