Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch appropriate police units and emergency services using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and incidents
- Coordinate with other agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Operate radio equipment and maintain constant communication with field units
- Adhere to strict protocols for sensitive information and crisis management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 18 years of age at time of hire
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license or obtain within 30 days
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments with minimal supervision
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with emergency dispatch software
- Fluent in English with clear verbal communication skills
