Responsibilities
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to dispatch police units and emergency services
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with speed, accuracy, and empathy
- Enter and update information in CAD systems and maintain detailed call logs
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate with other agencies and first responders during critical incidents
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to departmental policies
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance emergency response skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Valid Arizona driver's license at time of appointment
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under high-pressure situations
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
