Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls with speed and accuracy while maintaining composure under pressure
- Dispatch police units, fire services, and medical responders using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed incident logs and radio communications per department protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents and disasters
- Provide lifesaving instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Operate radio equipment, telephones, and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification and procedural knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Clear English communication skills (bilingual Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred)
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
- Valid California driver's license (Class C)
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
