Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency calls via 911 and non-emergency lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and emergency equipment
- Coordinate with other agencies (EMS, Fire) during multi-incident scenarios
- Remain calm and professional under high-pressure situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- US citizenship and valid New Jersey driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Clear verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to multitask and prioritize information quickly
- No criminal record (felony convictions disqualify)
- Must be available for rotating shifts including nights/weekends
