Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with high accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain precise logs and records of all radio traffic, calls, and dispatch activities.
- Monitor and operate radio communications equipment to ensure clear, continuous contact with field units.
- Provide essential information and assistance to the public via telephone and radio during critical incidents.
- Coordinate with other agencies and supervisors to ensure officer safety and efficient response times.
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and state regulations regarding emergency communications.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35-40 words per minute accurately.
- Candidates must possess a clear, professional voice with no speech impediments that would hinder communication.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
- U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status must be established prior to employment.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
