Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Operate multi-channel radio systems to coordinate police/fire/EMS units
- Maintain real-time status tracking in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via emergency protocols
- Document call details accurately in NCIC and local databases
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Perform quality assurance checks on recorded communications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Minimum 18 years of age (21+ for firearm certification)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph
- Valid California driver's license
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights/holidays
