Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses along designated routes
- Sort, organize, and prepare daily mail according to postal regulations and delivery standards
- Operate delivery vehicles safely and adhere to all traffic laws and USPS protocols
- Provide courteous customer service during interactions and resolve delivery-related inquiries
- Maintain accurate delivery records and report any irregularities or hazards along routes
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex delivery instructions
- Basic computer literacy for using delivery scanning systems and route navigation
- Pass background check and drug screening as required for federal employment
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing schedules
