Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans for city initiatives and public programs
- Manage media relations and serve as primary spokesperson for assigned departments
- Oversee digital content creation across social media, websites, and press releases
- Coordinate crisis communications and public response during emergencies
- Analyze public sentiment and recommend policy adjustments based on community feedback
- Organize public forums and stakeholder engagement events across Atlanta's diverse neighborhoods
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government/public sector communications
- Proven crisis communication and media relations expertise
- Advanced proficiency with digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Sprout Social)
- Exceptional writing skills with portfolio of published materials
- Valid Georgia driver's license and ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
- Experience working with diverse communities and multilingual populations preferred
