As a key member of our Benefits Access Team, you'll directly assist families and individuals navigating Medicaid, SNAP, and CHIP programs. Our collaborative environment offers continuous professional development and opportunities for advancement within state government.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify eligibility for state healthcare and nutrition assistance programs
- Conduct comprehensive client interviews to document needs and circumstances
- Provide clear guidance on application procedures and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with community partners to expand outreach efforts
- Maintain accurate case records in state databases while ensuring compliance
- Resolve complex eligibility inquiries through research and policy interpretation
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to improve service delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in benefits administration or social services
- Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish preferred)
- Ability to handle sensitive information with empathy and discretion
- Valid Texas driver's license for occasional field visits
- Certified Public Benefits Manager (CPBM) designation a plus
