Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain county-wide public health emergency response plans aligned with FEMA and CDC guidelines
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response operations including medical surge capacity and mass vaccination sites
- Lead public risk communication strategies during crises through press briefings, social media, and community alerts
- Manage emergency supply chains for PPE, medications, and medical equipment
- Train healthcare workers and community volunteers in emergency protocols and incident command systems
- Analyze post-incident data to improve response strategies and update protocols
- Secure federal/state grant funding for emergency preparedness initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification or equivalent
- Expertise in NIMS/ICS protocols and multi-agency coordination frameworks
- Proven ability to manage high-pressure situations with competing priorities
- Strong data analysis skills with experience in crisis simulation modeling
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
