Responsibilities
- Lead emergency response operations during public health crises including pandemics, natural disasters, and bioterrorism events
- Coordinate with local hospitals, EMS providers, and community organizations for resource allocation
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans for vulnerable populations
- Conduct field assessments and real-time data analysis during incidents
- Train public health staff on emergency response protocols and incident command systems
- Manage grant-funded emergency response programs and budget allocations
- Prepare after-action reports and implement continuous improvement strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in public health emergency response or disaster management
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300/400) or equivalent
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency response software
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-agency responses under pressure
- Valid Texas driver's license and willingness to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required
- Experience with federal grant reporting (FEMA, HHS) preferred
