Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting underserved Detroit communities
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and data analysis to identify health trends and emerging threats
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers, community organizations, and state agencies to align health initiatives
- Lead community outreach and education campaigns on health topics like immunization, maternal health, and chronic disease prevention
- Prepare comprehensive reports and policy recommendations for state leadership and stakeholder review
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Train public health staff and volunteers on best practices in community engagement
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health program implementation or community health work
- Proficiency in health data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS) and public health informatics
- Demonstrated experience developing community partnerships and collaborative initiatives
- Strong knowledge of Michigan public health regulations and CDC guidelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex data to diverse audiences
- Valid Michigan driver's license and willingness to travel within the region
