Responsibilities
- Design and execute public health campaigns addressing chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify community health trends and inform policy recommendations
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies for program implementation
- Conduct community needs assessments and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Develop educational materials and public health communications for diverse audiences
- Monitor program effectiveness and prepare compliance reports for federal/state agencies
- Represent the department in intergovernmental health initiatives and coalitions
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of public health program implementation experience
- Proficiency in health data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
- Experience working with underserved communities and health equity initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with bilingual capabilities (Spanish/Arabic) a plus
- Knowledge of Michigan public health regulations and grant compliance
