Responsibilities
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and analysis of disease trends to inform public health interventions
- Develop and implement community health education programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises including infectious disease outbreaks
- Manage grant-funded projects focused on health equity and chronic disease prevention
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to improve immunization rates and preventive care access
- Prepare comprehensive reports for county commissioners and state health authorities
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives addressing social determinants of health
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in governmental public health practice
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Advanced proficiency in epidemiological data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Experience managing grants and contracts exceeding $500,000
- Valid Nevada driver's license with clean driving record
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (highly preferred)
