Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies for city departments
- Manage media relations, press conferences, and public inquiries
- Create compelling content for digital platforms, social media, and official channels
- Coordinate crisis communications during emergencies or sensitive situations
- Produce reports, speeches, and multimedia materials for leadership
- Analyze public sentiment and adjust messaging strategies accordingly
- Maintain compliance with Arizona Public Records Laws and Sunshine regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in government communications
- Proven crisis management and media relations expertise
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and CMS platforms
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance
- Experience with public records requests and FOIA compliance
- Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred
