Responsibilities
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units during emergency and non-emergency situations
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide life-saving instructions via phone during critical incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major events
- Monitor radio communications and maintain situational awareness
- Train on specialized equipment including EMD and EFD protocols
- Participate in continuous drills and scenario-based training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
- Valid Kansas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Experience in high-pressure customer service or dispatch
- Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch systems
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Fluent in English with clear communication skills
