Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume emergency and non-emergency calls with calm professionalism
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate incident documentation and communication logs
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and specialized emergency software
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service or dispatch experience
- Valid Oregon driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer-aided dispatch
- EMT certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
