Responsibilities
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical services via 911 calls and radio communications
- Maintain precise incident documentation using CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Operate emergency alert systems and manage resource allocation
- Perform quality assurance monitoring of dispatch protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years public safety or customer service experience
- National APCO certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Typing speed 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Oregon driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
