Responsibilities
- Manage emergency communications for police, fire, and medical services with precision and composure
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via telephone during medical emergencies
- Maintain detailed incident documentation and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Ensure compliance with state and federal emergency protocols
- Train and mentor new dispatch personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Minimum 2 years dispatch or emergency services experience
- Valid POST Public Safety Dispatcher certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Proficiency in multi-tasking during high-stress scenarios
- Fluency in English and Spanish (highly desirable)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
