Responsibilities
- Oversee $200M+ annual infrastructure budget and capital projects
- Manage 500+ employees across transportation, sanitation, and parks divisions
- Develop climate-resilient infrastructure plans aligned with Detroit's 2050 Vision
- Lead federal/state grant applications for infrastructure modernization
- Implement smart city technologies across public works systems
- Ensure compliance with EPA/FHA regulations and safety standards
- Collaborate with Detroit Future City and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- 10+ years public works management experience
- PE license required (Michigan)
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering/Urban Planning
- Proven $50M+ budget management
- Experience with federal infrastructure grants (e.g., INFRA, BRIDGE)
- Detroit residency required within 6 months of hire
- LEED AP certification preferred
