Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Document findings, prepare detailed inspection reports, and maintain accurate project records
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities and coordinate resolutions
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve technical issues
- Review permit applications and construction documents for regulatory compliance
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and the public regarding municipal codes
- Participate in plan review meetings and pre-construction conferences
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in construction technology, civil engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or related field experience
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with clean driving record
- ICBO Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Thorough knowledge of municipal codes, construction methods, and safety regulations
- Strong communication skills for interacting with contractors and public
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficiency with inspection software and Microsoft Office Suite
