Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public infrastructure projects (roads, drainage, utilities)
- Verify construction compliance with city codes, blueprints, and safety standards
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed technical reports
- Communicate with contractors, engineers, and city officials regarding compliance issues
- Review and approve payment requests based on project milestones
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works infrastructure
- Maintain digital and physical records of all inspections and communications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Civil Engineering Technology certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS software, and inspection reporting tools
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification
- Ability to interpret technical blueprints and municipal regulations
- Strong written communication skills for report preparation
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
