Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with plans and specifications
- Review and approve contractor workmanship, materials, and safety protocols
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and city departments to resolve issues
- Enforce city codes, ordinances, and regulatory requirements
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities
- Utilize GIS mapping and inspection software for project tracking
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree in construction management or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection or project coordination experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license and reliable transportation
- ICBO certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction specifications
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and local building codes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
