Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of public works projects (roads, utilities, drainage) for code compliance
- Review engineering plans and contractor submittals for technical accuracy
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain digital documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints and resolve code violations
- Test construction materials and verify installation methods
- Provide technical guidance during construction phases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (AA/AS degree preferred)
- 3+ years construction inspection or engineering technician experience
- ICBO/ICC certifications (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and inspection software
- Strong knowledge of municipal codes and construction standards
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to work outdoors in Arizona climate conditions
