Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public works construction projects
- Verify compliance with engineering specifications and safety regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate infrastructure complaints and recommend solutions
- Enforce city codes and federal/state regulations
- Maintain accurate project records and databases
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; AA/AS in Engineering Technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years construction inspection experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- ICBO certifications or equivalent required
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and methods
- Proficient in CAD and inspection software
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and lift up to 50 lbs
