Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of public works projects including roads, drainage systems, and utility installations
- Verify compliance with city codes, engineering plans, and safety regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city staff to resolve issues promptly
- Investigate citizen complaints and implement corrective actions
- Utilize GIS mapping and digital inspection tools for efficient project tracking
- Participate in emergency response during infrastructure failures or natural disasters
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction inspection or related field
- Valid California Inspector Certification (CIT/ICC) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficient in reading blueprints, engineering plans, and technical specifications
- Strong knowledge of California building codes and municipal regulations
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to work in field conditions and traverse uneven terrain
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- GIS software proficiency preferred
