Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public works projects including roads, bridges, and utilities
- Verify compliance with blueprints, specifications, and safety regulations
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Investigate citizen complaints regarding construction or infrastructure issues
- Coordinate with contractors to resolve non-compliance issues
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Provide technical guidance to construction teams and project managers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years construction inspection experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- ICBO Certification (International Code Council) preferred
- Knowledge of municipal construction codes and standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with inspection software and documentation systems
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and field environments
