Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret engineering blueprints, survey data, and project specifications
- Conduct field inspections of highway/bridge construction sites to ensure compliance with state/federal standards
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for project milestones
- Coordinate with contractors, municipalities, and state agencies on project deliverables
- Utilize CAD/GIS software to create and update transportation infrastructure maps
- Assist in traffic studies and accident data analysis for safety improvements
- Support environmental compliance documentation for DOT projects
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of transportation engineering/construction experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS mapping software
- Pennsylvania EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean record
- Strong knowledge of PennDOT construction specifications and MUTCD standards
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel statewide
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for technical reporting
