Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities)
- Review engineering plans and specifications for compliance with city codes
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety regulations
- Manage permit documentation and compliance records
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- 2+ years construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Code and FDOT standards
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and lift 50 lbs
- Clear background check and drug screening required
