Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public works projects (roads, drainage, utilities) for code compliance
- Review construction plans and specifications for technical accuracy
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Enforce safety regulations and mitigate construction risks
- Manage project documentation and permit compliance
- Respond to urgent field issues within 24-hour response time
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years construction inspection experience in municipal/government projects
- Valid California Inspector Certification (CIT, QACI, or equivalent)
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of ICC/CA building codes and local ordinances
- Ability to work in field conditions (outdoor/industrial environments)
- California Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
