Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (street sweepers, snow plows, dump trucks) for infrastructure maintenance
- Perform manual labor including pothole repairs, sidewalk replacements, and vegetation control
- Conduct daily safety inspections of equipment and job sites
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated public works projects
- Document daily activities and equipment usage in digital reporting systems
- Respond to emergency weather events (snow removal, flooding response)
- Participate in community beautification initiatives and public facility upkeep
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of Philadelphia municipal infrastructure systems
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
