Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks safely
- Assist in construction projects including road paving, bridge maintenance, and park renovations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations at all times
- Collaborate with engineering teams to execute infrastructure improvement plans
- Document work activities and maintain accurate project records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
