Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for street repairs, pothole patching, and traffic signal maintenance
- Operate heavy machinery including loaders, graders, and dump trucks safely
- Conduct routine park maintenance including landscaping and equipment operation
- Assist with stormwater infrastructure inspections and minor repairs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Respond to emergency weather events (snow removal, flood response)
- Maintain accurate work records and equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Kansas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Minimum 1 year construction/maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record with no DUI convictions in past 5 years
