Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, loaders) for construction/maintenance projects
- Perform street repairs, sidewalk installations, and storm drain maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and document findings
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on municipal improvement projects
- Assist during emergency weather response (snow removal, flood control)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Illinois Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction/public works
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
