Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair municipal roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including loaders, graders, and snow removal equipment
- Perform seasonal tasks like storm drain clearing and vegetation management
- Enforce city ordinances related to waste management and public property
- Respond to emergency weather events (snowstorms, floods) with rapid deployment
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities using digital field reporting systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic proficiency with GPS and digital mapping tools
