Responsibilities
- Operate light/heavy machinery for road repairs and landscaping projects
- Perform routine maintenance on municipal facilities and green spaces
- Respond to weather-related emergencies (snow removal, storm cleanup)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Assist in public outreach during community events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Experience with hand/power tools and landscaping equipment
- Strong teamwork ethic and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
