Responsibilities
- Perform heavy equipment operation and routine maintenance of city infrastructure
- Execute landscaping, irrigation, and park facility upkeep projects
- Respond to emergency storm drain and street maintenance requests
- Conduct daily safety inspections and report hazards
- Assist with traffic control during public events and construction zones
- Operate power tools, dump trucks, and specialized machinery
- Document work progress using digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works or landscaping
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Familiarity with Sacramento municipal codes
- Basic computer skills for reporting systems
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
